Career

A Welsh, Ken Jenkins co-founded the famous Actors Theatre of Louisville in 1969, and even remained the Associate Artistic Director for three years. He previously had studied acting at Antioch College.

On television he appeared on shows like Adult Math, Homefront, the X-Files, Babylon 5, Star Trek The Next Generation, The Stand.

On the big screen he acted in movies like Executive Decision, Last Man Standing, Gone in 60 Seconds, I Am Sam, The Sum of All Fears, The Abyss, Air America, Matewan, remake of Psycho, Transformers and Clockstoppers.

Jenkins can also play the acoustic guitar and sing, a talent which he showcases on the Scrubs episodes “My Musical”, "My Tuscaloosa Heart".

He is also known for his work in theatre, to which he has devoted around thirty years of his career, performing various classics such as those by Molière, Shaw, Shakespeare and Ibsen etc.

Scrubs
In the comedy drama Scrubs, Ken plays the role of Dr. Bob Kelso who is the Chief of Medicine at the Sacred Heart Hospital (Up till the seventh season). He appears quite cold and ruthless, often believed to be ignoring the welfare of the patients for profits. But in actuality, he deliberately has maintained this hard image to cope up with the difficult choices he has to make so that the hospital runs in a smooth fashion, even if that costs him his popularity.

Life
Ken married Joan Patchen (Now deceased since 31/3/2000) but later they separated and Ken married Katharine Hepburn’s niece, Katharine Houghton. The couple has three sons and one of them, Daniel H. Jenkins, even did a Broadway musical production of Big River (1985) with him.
He likes training dogs and is an expert in wood work.
